The Mount Olive Kiwanis, Mount Olive Lowe's, Colleen's Courier Service, and Jones Estate Cleanouts teamed up to donate 2,800 pounds of play sand to the Mount Olive Child Care & Learning Center on June 20, 2005. Mount Olive Lowe's offered a 30% discount, Colleen's Courier Service donated the remaining cost, Jones Estate Cleanouts provided transportation, and Kiwanians provided the manual labor. Three children were present at the Center to help break-in the new sand; one two-year-old boy was observed literally dancing in the sand box with a huge smile on his face.
